CHICAGO, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) wheat futures traded significantly higher on Friday morning over weather forecast that Australia will be dryer in September.

As of 1454 GMT, the most active December wheat was up 15.75 cents at 5.7775 dollars per bushel, while December corn was down 0.5 cent at 3.7925 dollars and November soybeans were down 6.5 cents at 8.905 dollars per bushel.

Wheat futures, which had posted double-digit gains on Thursday, continued the upturn after the Australian government said in a report that September would be dryer than average, probably further damaging crops in the key wheat exporter.

CBOT soybeans retreated on Friday morning, following a more-than-three-percent surge in the previous session. Enditem
