BEIJING, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced on Friday that it will initiate an expiry review of the anti-dumping measures applicable to imports of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) from the United States, the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the European Union (EU).

The decision follows an application submitted in October by two Chinese companies on behalf of the domestic industry, according to an MOC statement.

The applicants requested the review on the grounds that the termination of the anti-dumping measures might lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping and damage to the Chinese industry.

The review is set to begin on Dec. 20, and is expected to conclude before Dec. 20, 2026.

During the investigation period, China will continue to levy anti-dumping duties on EPDM imports from the United States, ROK and the EU at the rates established in the MOC's 2020 announcement.

These rates range from 214.9 percent to 222 percent for U.S. companies, 12.5 percent to 24.5 percent for ROK companies, and 14.7 percent to 31.7 percent for EU companies.

Meanwhile, the ministry announced that anti-dumping measures on EPDM imports from Britain will end on Dec. 20, 2025.

EPDM is a type of synthetic rubber widely used in construction, wire and cable insulation, and the automotive industry for components such as seals, hoses and weatherstripping.
